We’ve seen some eccentric promotions over the years that usually involve minor-league baseball teams thinking of unorthodox ways to attract new or more consumers to games.

Food promos usually top the list, although bobbleheads, jersey retirements, and custom jerseys are also popular ways to spike interest. The San Jose Sharks are one of the most popular teams in hosting games where giveaways are prominent. The Syracuse Crunch may’ve had the best hockey related promotional idea, when they held Slap Shot night.

Speaking of crunch, over in the KHL, HC Spartak Moscow literally wants their consumers to, well, consume their custom made burger they’re offering. The burger’s top bun is coloured red with the teams logo imprinted on the top bun.

Last season, the team failed to make the playoffs and finished second last in the KHL’s Western Conference, notching only 21 wins and 66 points in 60 games. Spartak is 0-2 in their first two games this year, so it’s understandable why Spartak is trying new methods in hopes of attracting more fans to come out and watch. The team feature former NHLers Stanislav Chistov, Dmitri Kalinin, Ben Maxwell, Ryan Stoa and Alexander Khokhlachev.
