The Oakland Athletics have been one of the most surprising teams in Major League Baseball this season as they find themselves one game back of the Houston Astros for top spot in the AL West heading into Monday night's action.

On Monday night, the A’s opened a three-game home stand against the Texas Rangers and they had some special guests in attendance in 12 recipients from the Make-A-Wish Bay Area.

Many members of the A’s made their way over to greet the kids and sign some autographs for them, but Khris Davis changed things up and asked one of the kids for his autograph.

Davis ended up keeping the jersey on and rocked it for Monday night’s game. In the home half of the third inning he came through in an even bigger way for the young fan as he completely crushed his 37th dinger of the year.

The 30-year-old has been a completely different player since joining the Athletics two years ago. In his first season with the club he hit 42 home runs and drove in 102 runs and he followed that up by hitting 43 home runs and driving in 110 runs the following season. This year, Davis is on pace to have another career-high year as he has 37 home runs and 99 RBI with just under 60 games left to play.
