Kyrie Irving’s time in the spotlight has been amplified over the past year. First of all, he was involved in a heavily publicized falling out with the Cleveland Cavaliers and all-time great LeBron James when he requested a trade, one that was eventually granted in a deal with the Boston Celtics. Between that and his massive start to the season, leading the Celtics to a #1 spot in the Eastern Conference despite injury to fellow newcomer Gordon Hayward, the name Kyrie Irving is being heard much more frequently than in years past.

Almost everything surrounding the star point guard has been positive, but there has been one little asterisk next to Kyrie’s legacy. He openly stated that he believed in the widely disputed flat-earth theory.

Irving did come out to say months later that this flat-earth business was all just to “troll” people, but many speculate that this latest admission is spinning Irving’s words to be a little less disputed (and embarrassing).

Now that the need to explain himself is officially behind Irving, he is proving that he isn’t afraid to touch on the issue. In a Nike commercial featuring fellow Boston sports stars Jayson Tatum and Rob Gronkowski, Irving pokes fun at his flat-earth saga by mentioning “his world” while spinning around what can only be described as a flat globe.

Irving may have been laughed out of the science world over this past year, but at least we know he has potential as a director. Saying that, he should probably just stick to basketball – he’s pretty good at that.
