Corey Perry is an NHL veteran playing in his 16th NHL season. Normally, a tenure like that commands respect around the league. While Perry certainly gets some respect, he’s not exactly a “normal” player.

Perry specializes in pestering the heck out of his opponents. He’s also been subject to a number of league disciplines, so his path to respect has been a little more tumultuous.

On Saturday, Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck had just about enough of Corey Perry. With Perry parked in his familiar spot in front of Hellebuyck’s net, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner decided to take matters into his own hands.

Not pulling any punches. It’s nice to see a little candor in post-game pressers, and this definitely deepens the Habs/Jets rivalry a little more.

The two teams play one more time this season, so circle April 30th on your calendars. It’s bound to be a good one.
