Lawson Crouse was having none of the trolling on NHL draft night.

As names were being called by NHL clubs on Friday night, the 21-year-old unsurprisingly noticed some criticism being tossed around on Twitter. Crouse, clearly angered, called out the trolls who felt the need to critique the prospects despite having no personal experience playing at an elite level.

Crouse understands the pressure the kids face after hearing their name called out on draft night. The Canadian was selected 11th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2015 draft and has struggled to earn a regular role in the league. Crouse was eventually traded to Arizona where he’s played in 83 games for the Coyotes.

A Twitter user remarkably felt the need to call Crouse a bust afterward, but he found himself quickly getting called out by other fans.

Draft night is supposed to be a celebration and the last thing these players need is online criticism. It’s nice to see an NHLer actually publicly recognized that.
