Friday, Russell Westbrook signed the richest contract extension in NBA history, extending his stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder another 5-years to the tune of $205 million.

Part of the reaction to Westbrook's deal was discussing the crazy  amount of money he'll be making per year, but the majority of people were more fascinated with the day in which OKC chose to announce the deal: on Kevin Durant's birthday. While KD didn't comment on Westbrook's massive deal, LeBron James did, congratulating the reigning MVP, and endorsing him as a "great one."

Not all Great Ones wear #99. Apparently James had enough time in between chirping his pal Dwyane Wade in hilarious fashion to get on Twitter to congratulate Russ. It would be nice to see KD do the same, but it seems as if their relationship isn't quite there yet.

Perhaps that will change in 2018. After all, #WhyNot?
