Luke Willson was selected 158th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and made an impact on the field almost immediately. The LaSalle, Ontario native went on to spend the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Seahawks and was a member of the team that came out on top at Super Bowl XLVIII.

Now a member of the Detroit Lions after signing a one-year, $2.5 million contract this past offseason, the 28-year-old is preparing to take on his former team this weekend when the Seahawks pay a visit to Detroit. As a way to show some love to the media members who followed his career over the past five years, Willson showed his true Canadian colours by having fresh baked goods delivered to the Seahawks’ media in Seattle before they departed for Detroit.

Willson also wrote a letter for the members of the Seattle media, which was waiting alongside the fresh baked goods.

My 5 years in Seattle were some of the best of my life and you guys were a big part of that. I appreciate the working relationship we had together and your role in covering our team. I can’t even imagine how much you all miss me.

Enjoy some desserts on me, it’s the least that I could do.

Travel safe and see you Sunday.

The world could certainly use more people like Luke Willson.

With Halloween right around the corner, we take a trip down memory lane and remember the time the Canadian tight end went costume shopping with Cabbie.

In his five seasons with the Seahawks, Willson caught 89 passes for 1,129 yards and 11 touchdowns.
