Teams from Rhode Island and Kentucky faced off in Little League World Series action, but the most emotional moment of the game came before any of the actual action.

Mason Goodnight, a former Kentucky player before he passed away two years ago, was a teammate of current members of the team as well as the son of Kentucky coach Jef Goodnight.

The team hung his jersey up in the dugout, and before the game started, opposing players from Rhode Island came over to touch the jersey and show their respect.

Gotta say, that’s very eloquently put by 11-year-old Lucas Tanous, and a class act by the team overall. Way to act beyond your years! Some things are bigger than the game, and these Little Leaguers are standing tall.

This isn’t even the first time that this year’s LLWS has had us bawling. Dylan Bloom’s mom, who is battling leukemia, was brought to tears in the middle of an interview while watching her son score a run. Feels!
