The NFL preseason kicked off on Thursday night and NFL fans across America got their first taste of this year’s rookie class.

Many of this year’s top picks made their debuts on Thursday, including Baker Mayfield, Saquon Barkley, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, to name a few. Most of the highly touted rookies put together some big plays in their debut and gave their fans some reason to be optimistic heading into the season, especially Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.

The 2018 first overall pick finished the game 11-20 with 212 yards and two touchdowns and added 13 yards on the ground on three carries in Cleveland’s 20-10 win over the New York Giants. After completing his first touchdown pass of the preseason to David Njoku, the tight end tossed the ball into the stands. A Giants fan ended up catching it and he wanted absolutely nothing to do with it.

Rather than keep it as a souvenir or handing it off to a young fan nearby, this Giants fan decided the best thing to do was throw the ball right back onto the field. Sure, it’s not technically his first career touchdown pass since we’re still in the preseason but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this fan could have gone home with a game ball.
