Shortly after the game wrapped up the Penguins’ social media team shared videos of past and present teammates congratulating Geno on his recent accomplishment and the best one came courtesy of Vegas Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

Chris Kunitz and Max Talbot also shared a heartfelt message with Malkin after he picked up his 1,000th career point, but the messages weren’t as funny as Fleury’s.

The night was capped off with Malkin receiving the play of the game honours from teammate Matt Murray.

Malkin’s two assists on the night gives him 70 points in 64 games this season.
