Baltimore Orioles fans haven’t had much to cheer about this season as their team became the final MLB team to reach the 20-win mark this season and currently sit dead last in the league with a 20-50 record.

On top of owning the worst record in the league the Orioles have also scored a league-low 248 runs to 361 runs against, MLB’s fourth highest. One player who hasn’t regressed this season is Manny Machado. The 25-year-old has been one of the few bright spots on the Orioles’ roster this year and is one of the few reasons why the fans still have a reason to cheer.

The O’s begin a six-game Interleague road trip in Washington on Tuesday night and will wrap it up in Atlanta on Sunday, and they’ll have a special guest in attendance when they take on the Braves in the series finale.

As part of a special surprise for his 14th birthday, Machado hooked up Atlanta-native JJ Roddenberry with an incredible game day experience that will include watching the Orioles’ batting practice and tickets to the game. After seeing the young fan’s reaction online, Machado reached out again with a personal video message.

This is an incredible gesture by Machado and the Orioles and it’ll get even better when they finally meet each other face to face on Sunday afternoon.
