Mark Scheifele let it alllll out during his season-ending presser.

All of it.

The 28-year-old faced the media for the second time following his four-game suspension and this time, didn’t hold back quite as much. Before we get to what he had to say about the suspension itself, Scheif made a point of calling out the media for doubting the Jets ahead of the season. The original question was actually about head coach Paul Maurice so the Jets’ number one centre wanted to make a point out of reminding the media that they had it all wrong about Winnipeg’s NHL club.

The Jets definitely exceeded expectaitons, finishing the season with a 30-23-3 record and third place finish in the Norhern division. But back to the suspension now. Asked about the length, Scheifele expressed his frustration with the decision and noted it was the Department of Player Safety, not Habs centre Phillip Danault who ultimately shut him down. There was no holding back in this presser.

Scheifele’s suspension will carry through to the first game of next season, just to add a bit of salt to the wound. We’ll have to see if he and the media can prove the media wrong again next season.
