Toronto Raptors fans have earned themselves a reputation as one of the best fan bases in the NBA and Masai Ujiri wants to put that passion on display.

The Raptors are heading to Detroit to face off against the Pistons and the game is being televised nationally in America, an honour that the Raptors aren’t afforded very often. This season has added some extra fuel to the fire for fans who believe Toronto often gets snubbed on a national level and it’s clear that the team is hoping to make a statement tonight.

The Raptors can clinch a playoff spot tonight with a win, so they’re bringing 5 buses of fans along to help make it feel more like a home game. Oh, and Ujiri is travelling with them.

Ujiri is a man of the people.

He seems to know exactly how to fire up his team’s audience. His most famous moment was the “F&%* Brooklyn!” quote before a Raptors playoff series in the 2014 playoffs, but there have been plenty more. We have no doubt he’ll make an effort to do the same this year, because the Raptors are in first place and are still not getting the respect they deserve from many places in America.

This team plays with a  real chip on their shoulder and that mentality comes from the top down.
