Matt Duchene is shutting out all the media noise that has surrounded him for the past little while and he’s just enjoying his time in Colorado.

The team is off to a much better start this season, going 6-5 in their first 11 games and Duchene has been a big part of that. The 26-year-old has started the year with eight points in eleven games and the Avs are just two points out of a playoff spot with two games in hand.

So, the mood is probably improving a bit and Duchene is enjoying himself in the Denver area. Last night he was in attendance for the Denver Nuggets game against the Toronto Raptors – and he almost got hit harder than he ever has on the ice.

Luckily for him and his wife, they were just missed. As he explained later in an interview with Altitude TV, the fan behind him wasn’t so lucky. He was covered in his own beer after Murray landed mainly in his area.

Matt Duchene knew the true reason for the whole ordeal though – he just wanted to give his fellow Canadians a hug.
