Max Domi is perceived by some as one of the NHL’s bigger pests, but he might have picked himself up a few extra fans from Vancouver thanks to an altercation he had with Florida Panthers defenceman Mike Matheson on Tuesday night.

You might be asking yourself why Canucks nation would care in the slightest about this, but it has to do with an injury their star rookie endured earlier in the season. Elias Pettersson was forced to miss time with a concussion after getting thrown to the ice by Matheson in a 3-2 road win. The Panthers travelled to Vancouver on Sunday and while Canucks players attempted to fight Matheson, he refused to drop his mitts. Domi took notice and after getting heated with him on the ice, he made sure to call his opponent out in a gutless not suited for work rant in the penalty box.

He appeared to say, “I saw you that last game, you F$%@#>& suck! Just ruthless. Fans watching were quick to point out that Domi probably gained supporters from out west.

The Canucks fell to the Canaidens 2-0 on the road but you can probably count on him receiving some sort of cheer if he visits Vancouver next season. While some fans were obsessing over him going after Matheson, others were pointing out how scary he looked during the rant.

Domi, the Canadiens AND Canucks fans had the last laugh as the Habs came out on top with a 5-1 victory. If there’s anything hockey fans can take away from this it’s to never get under Max Domi’s skin again!
