The world lost a hockey legend on Friday as Montreal Canadiens great Henri Richard passed away at the age of 84.

Richard was known as “The Pocket Rocket” during his career and won 11 Stanley Cups as a player, the most in NHL history. Shortly after the news broke plenty of tributes and messages were shared by fans, as well as past and present players, to honour the late Henri Richard.

After taking some time to let it sink and putting some thought into his message, Max Domi took to social media where he shared some heartfelt messages about Henri Richard and what he meant to him.

Domi was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens ahead of the 2018-19 season, so he got plenty of chances to meet Henri Richard and heard stories from other former players about the great player and person he was during his playing days.

The Montreal, Quebec native played all 1,258 regular season games of his career in a Canadiens uniform, scoring 358 goals and 1,046 points in that span, and also totaled 49 goals and 129 points in 180 playoff games. In his 20 years with the Habs, they made the playoffs 18 times and won 11 Stanley Cups, including five in a row from 1955-56 until 1959-60.
