A change of scenery proved to be a very good thing for Max Domi.

In his first three NHL seasons with the Arizona Coyotes, Domi scored scored 36 goals and 135 points in 222 games. Last year, the 24-year-old registered 28 goals and 72 points in his first season with the Montreal Canadiens and he’s only looking to get better moving forward.

Recently, the 12th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft sat down with the Canadiens’ social media team for a segment called ‘Habs Ink’ and he told the stories behind all of his tattoos.

A lot of parents out there are not alright with their kids getting a tattoo, but that doesn’t stop all of those kids from getting a tattoo and a lot of them end up hiding it from their parents for days, even months or years.

Now, imagine your dad is legendary NHL enforcer Tie Domi, the man with the most fights (333) and the third most penalty minutes (3,515) in NHL history, and you have to try to figure out a way to break the news to him that you went ahead and got a tattoo without his permission. How scared would you be?

We’re guessing Tie wasn’t mad about the tattoo for too long, especially since it was something meaningful and could actually save his life, and it probably helped that the next piece of ink the Habs forward got was in honour of his father.
