Saturday, April 13, 2019, was a rough day for Toronto sports fans.

First they watched the Toronto Raptors open the playoffs with a loss to the Orlando Magic, and that was followed up by the Toronto Maple Leafs falling short against the Boston Bruins, 4-1. One fan who felt it all the most was UFC lightweight fighter Max Holloway, who lost by decision against Dustin Poirier in a five round battle that had fight fans on their feet.

As the Waianae, Hawaii native exited the octagon and made his way backstage he made a quick comment about his rough day which didn’t just include his own loss.

Holloway is a massive Raptors fan and he even took in a few games courtside this season, and after his bout he couldn’t help but comment on their loss and his, as well.

Holloway came out on the losing end of the fight, but he was in good spirits after it was all said and done. Hopefully the UFC gets working on that Holloway vs. Poirier rematch very soon. As for Holloway, this was his first loss in the octagon since August 17, 2013, when he fell short against Conor McGregor at UFC Fight Night 26.
