There are few things more embarrassing than wiping out during warmups in front of a 20,000+ crowd.

Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty experienced every hockey fan’s worst nightmare last night ahead of his team's matchup against the New York Islanders when he accidentally slipped on a puck and lost control of his body. All the 29-year-old could do was accept his fate and brace himself for what was actually a pretty hard fall.

Max Pacioretty is just like the rest of us #jimbo @pardonmytake

Ouch.

For a second there it looked like ‘Patches’ was down for the count, but it’s nice to see he was able to get back onto his feet. NBC’s broadcasters were right, though. Can you imagine if he chose to warmup without a bucket on? The results could have been disastrous.

Pacioretty’s moment was embarrassing, but then again, it can always be worse. Like the time a maintenance worker at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship nearly got nailed in the head with numerous shots.

Heads up! 🏒🥅

Probably should have worn a helmet for that one.

Every player (and worker) has their odd moment during a pre-game skate, but it’s always a good sign when they can laugh it off afterward. Luckily for Pacioretty and Canadiens fans, everything turned out to be okay.
