Max Scherzer is probably the early National League favourite for the Cy Young at this point in the baseball season, and he’s not letting any injuries stop him.

Scherzer appears to have battled through two injuries yesterday to complete a six-inning, eight strikeout quality start against the Phillies. Apparently he actually used the injuries to battle each other his mind, allowing them to effectively cancel each other out. We’re not sure if that math checks out in the medical world, but he explained how he felt after getting hit with a 100mph liner.

What he says checks out – After Scherzer was hit, he not only appeared to be fine, but he was immaculate.

Here’s the play in which his was hit with a comebacker. Ouch.
