Everyone’s favourite holiday is just nine days away and a group of NHLers have gotten the ball rolling early.

With certain teams set to either hit the road or play a slate of games on home ice, now is the time to celebrate Halloween and let us tell you, the costumes haven’t disappointed to date. Let’s kick things off by taking a look at Ottawa Senators forward Matt Duchene. The guy didn’t do anything too out of the ordinary, but his skeleton outfit (mainly the face paint) is pretty off the charts.

What a way to announce you're going to be a dad!

Speaking of Sens players, Mark Stone and Brady Tkachuk kicked things up a notch on the creativity scale with a little ‘shake and bake’ from Talladega Nights. Brady couldn’t look more like a young John C. Reilly!

Their teammates also came through with some pretty epic ones as well.

The rest of the Senators’ costumes were just as epic as Tkachuk and Stone’s 🎃 👻

Okay enough with Ottawa, let’s move onto a different Canadian team. How about the Edmonton Oilers, who featured Connor McDavid dressed as Homer Simpson?

That one might take the cake!

Time take make our way south of the Border. Probably the biggest contender to McDavid came from the Dallas Stars’ big three, who dressed as some pretty realistic Mario Kart characters. Wouldn’t expect anything less from these dudes!

Best Halloween group costume yet? 😂 (📸: @tseguin92)

If you’re looking for a new idea ahead of the 31st, perhaps Blake Coleman and his huge legs can help you out!

Swipe for the surprise 😂 Nice legs @bcoles25 👌
