It didn’t take very long for the Drive-By Dunk Challenge to become a viral hit over the summer and it was only a matter of time until NBA players got in on all the fun.

New Orleans Pelicans’ Anthony Davis and Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown were just two of the NBA players who got in on the fun, as we couldn’t go a single day without seeing another version of the Drive-By Dunk Challenge somewhere on the internet.

After seeing what all of the hype was about, Calgary Flames defenceman Dougie Hamilton decided to create his own version of the challenge by uploading his own Canadian edition of the viral sensation.

Turns out Hamilton might have started a new trend throughout the hockey community as New York Rangers defencemen Ryan McDonagh and Brady Skjei recently took to the streets of Minnesota together and took part in the Drive-By Slap Shot Challenge.

We’ll have to wait and see if this trend picks up throughout the hockey community over the last couple weeks of summer.
