Mike Babcock has a great sense of humour, and he’s really gotten used to the give and take that comes with the media in Toronto.

There always seem to rumours swirling around the team about star players getting traded, players switching positions and even players having faux injuries. Obviously the players and especially the coaching staff/executives are well aware of these rumours and Babcock felt like stirring something up today.

He wanted to get in on the fun and asked the media if he could help out.

After the full day of practice, Babcock wasn’t too successful in starting any rumours. Although, Nylander does remain on the fourth line for the day, so we’re sure rumours will continue to rise about his place on the team.

It seems like the team is totally content rolling out some of their young stars in a lesser 5-on-5 roll while they feel they have some kinks to work out, so it’s probably nothing.
