It doesn’t take very long for a professional athlete to make a fan’s day, and with just a simple video call, Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans gave 23-year-old Bucs fan Marco Solis, who is battling cancer, an incredible surprise.

Solis describes Evans as his favourite player, and you can see from his reaction just how much this means.

Especially with so much free time on their hands right now, we’ve seen a number of athletes make similar calls to drop in and surprise their fans, and of course, that kind of check-in goes a long way especially right now.

Earlier this month, Pascal Siakam did the same thing for a young Raptors fan and leukemia survivor, who was set to go on a trip to the Galapagos Islands through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. When that trip was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, Siakam decided to give him an even better surprise.
