Mike Hoffman was traded from the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, initially to the Sharks and was then flipped to the Panthers. For the first time since the trade Hoffman has shared his thoughts.
All of this started when the story accusing Hoffman’s fiancé of harassing Erik Karlsson’s wife surfaced, a story that Hoffman and his fiancé denied. It looks like he’s looking forward to a fresh start with the Panthers and is already excited about a team that he thinks is “very close to winning”.
It makes sense to be excited as a competitor; Florida is coming around to what should be the end of their rebuild whereas the Senators are just about to start one. Still, he clearly valued his time in Ottawa and is already looking forward to when he is able to return as a Panther.
What remains to be seen is how many familiar faces will be there when he gets back. Several reporters have stated that Ottawa will likely continue to be a hot spot for player movement in the next couple of weeks.
