Today is the day that we were hoping to be saying “the wait is finally over!” Unfortunately, that is not the case this year. With COVID-19 precautions continuing to suspend just about the entire sports world, Opening Day will not be taking place in the MLB.

Mike Trout, a player who fans wait to see all offseason in hopes that he can somehow widen the margin as the best player in the league, decided to do his part in trying to help out. With baseball fans undoubtedly feeling the dark clouds above their heads, Trout worked with the MLB to narrate an emotional Opening Day video with flavours of hope and unity.

This certainly tugged on a few heartstrings as the baseball world struggles to know what to feel. A video like this helps, but it also reminds us how incredible sport can me. It’s with a full heart that we feel this heartache.
