Finally, the NHL playoffs are upon us and one of the marquee series of the first round is set to take place on Thursday night.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins are set to square off for the second time in as many years, and fans are expecting nothing short of a thrilling series. Boston narrowly squaked by with a 4-3 series lead, thanks in large part to the play of everyone’s favourite agitator: Brad Marchand. The 30-year-old racked up 9 points in their meeting but proved to be just as effective after the whistle, where he absolutely wreaked havoc on the Buds. Leafs forward Mitch Marner detailed how the players are planning to deal with Marchand as they embark on the playoffs.

Uh… Maybe that’s not the best idea. Let’s go back in time to last year for a second and remember a certain situation that took place between Marchand and former Leafs forward Leo Komorov. Who could forget the infamous kiss?

Marner on dealing with Marchand: 'Let him do whatever he wants after the whistle'

And thennnnnnnn he’d go on to actually lick Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan in the second round.

Ironically enough, Marchand was recently voted the best, and worst trash-talker in the NHL. But let’s be real here, Leaf fans are more concerned about what he’ll be doing with his actions rather than his words.

We’re sure Marchand will bring the fire in what should be a heated series from puck-drop.
