A bar in Montreal pledged to its patrons that it would be selling discounted shots of alcohol for the price of the number worn by Max Pacioretty if the Habs captain is traded by Monday’s deadline.

The Taverne Saint-Sacrament, a bar located on Mont-Royal avenue announced that it will be holding a special “Bye Bye Max Pacioretty” event if “Pacs” is traded, via their Facebook page.

The third photo in the picture, which is from when Zdeno Chara drove Pacioretty’s head into a stanchion at the Bell Centre back in 2011, caused turmoil amongst Habs fans for its distastefullness. The impact of the collision resulted in a broken vertebrae and a severe concussion for the Connecticut native.

"Let's all look forward to the departure of Pacioretty and the advent of a new captain for the Montreal Canadiens," said the description of the event on the bar's Facebook page.

If you browse their Facebook page right now, there’s no evidence of the good riddance event, except if you happen to look at the reviews from several Habs fans calling the bar “classless, disgusting, and ridiculous. The link redirecting to the event has been deleted, meaning the event is no more.

Here’s a few screenshots of their reviews.

Thanks to Reddit user ‘maximalx5,’ an alleged owner of the bar posted this response to a Google review of his bar.

“Cette évaluation provient d'une personne qui n'est jamais venu à la Taverne Saint-Sacrement. C'est une réaction à une erreur sur une promo pour un événement à venir. La photo a été modifié sur la promo du lundi 26 février 2018 tel que mentionné sur le facebook de la Taverne Saint-Sacrement.  Nos excuses pour l'utilisation de l'image en question.”

According to Google translate, this translates to the following:

"This rating comes from a person who has never been to the Taverne Saint-Sacrement. It's a reaction to an error on a promo for an upcoming event. The photo has been modified on the promo of Monday, February 26, 2018 as mentioned on the facebook of the Taverne Saint-Sacrement. Our apologies for the use of the image in question."

It’s appaling that a bar would go to such lengths forthis type of promotional event considering everything Pacioretty has done as the captain of the team. According to DanslesCoulisses.com, only five people had RSVP’d on Facebook. The event was scheduled to start at the same time the trade deadline concludes on Monday.

In a city that’s already got a reputation for being tough to play in because of the excessive scrutiny from the media and fan base, this mistake does absolutely no favours to dispel that reputation whatsoever.

Earlier this week, the Quebec lottery released odds on potential teams Pacioretty could be traded to.

The 30-year-old comes in at No. 16 on the TSN Trade Bait list.

With #TradeCentre nearing, what would it take for your team to land #MaxPacioretty? 🔥🤔
