Nazem Kadri and Dion Phaneuf spent nearly seven seasons together as members of the Toronto Maple Leafs but that all came to an end when Phaneuf was dealt to the Ottawa Senators in a blockbuster nine-player trade on February 9, 2016.
Phaneuf has since moved on to the Los Angeles Kings while Kadri still calls Toronto home, but the time apart and on different teams didn’t change their relationship. On Wednesday night, the two former teammates got together and wanted their followers to know.
It wasn’t just Kadri who posted, though, as Phaneuf followed up the Maple Leafs centre’s post with a selfie post of his own.
Some people might look way too deep into these posts and joke that a reunion is coming up in the near future, but that’s highly unlikely to happen as Phaneuf still has three years left on his deal that pays him $7 million per season, while Kadri has four years remaining at $4.5 million per season.
