Minor league teams of all types have found a hack to get their team mentioned by the media and that’s to wear silly jerseys.

Everybody loves to see an unorthodox jersey, something that minor league hockey teams have been really abusing over the past couple of years. Well it appears that minor league basketball wants a piece of that pie as they enter the special jersey sweepstakes. They’re off to a hot start, as the Delaware 87ers (76ers affiliate) are rocking these jerseys to make them look like Spongebob.

They’re not the first minor league team to feature a special Spongbob jersey though. The San Jose Sharks’ ECHL affiliate wore these jerseys earlier in December. It doesn’t make them look like Spongebob, but he is featured on the jersey.
