After leaving Nike, Neymar has landed a new sponsorship deal with PUMA, and it looks like he is going to be paid extremely well over the life of his new contract.

The PSG star is expected to make $29 million per year, which eclipses the annual sponsorship deals of peers such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Neymar has been signed with Nike since he was 13 years old, and his decision to part ways with the brand came as a minor surprise since he had over a year left on his current 11-year contract.

Of course, when numbers like $29 million per year are getting thrown around, it’s hard to say no to that. Neymar shared a letter on Twitter, saying that he was excited to follow in the lineage of past soccer legends who had also played in PUMA such as Pele, Johann Cruyff, Eusebio and Diego Maradona.
