Since hockey players made the fantastic discovery that the Stanley Cup can be used for a variety of different exercises, NHL players have grown a special fascination with the popular “breakfast of champions” known as cereal.

Whether it was a quick bowl before an early morning practice, or just a pre-game snack, we all can relate to the different types of cereal we all enjoyed growing up, especially the sugary types. In a new video posted on NHL.com, various NHL players chimed in with some of their favourite types.

Amongst the players asked are Vladimir Tarasenko, Shayne Gostisbehere, Martin Jones, Roman Josi, Erik Karlsson, Patrick Kane, Mark Scheifele, Jonathan Drouin, Ryan Getzlaf, Taylor Hall, Nathan MacKinnon, Jordan Eberle, Chris Tanev, Dylan Larkin, Jamie Benn, Max Domi, Seth Jones, Jack Eichel, Jeff Skinner, Jonathan Huberdeau, Tyler Seguin, Connor McDavid, Marc-Andre Fleury, James van Riemsdyk, T.J. Oshie, Tyler Johnson, Tuukka Rask and Kevin Shattenkirk.

It’s pretty cool to see some of the European players choices compared to some of the North American guys. Although most of these guys probably stay away from the sugary types, you can beat they get nostalgic from time to time and snack away on some of these classics.

Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see another NHL superstar be featured on their own cereal box again one day.
