Over the offseason, it has become tradition for Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman to host the Zach Hyman Celebrity Classic golf tournament at Eagle Nest Golf Club near Toronto. The 2023 edition marks the 4th annual tournament, with proceeds going towards SickKids Children's Hospital in Toronto.
Over the years, there have been a number of celebrities and fellow NHLers in attendance, and the 2023 edition was no different. Also in attendance was our own Jesse Pollock!
Jesse secured some time with Seattle Kraken winger Brandon Tanev, Arizona Coyotes defenceman Sean Durzi, and Zach Hyman himself to participate in a golf-themed skills challenge. The challenges would certainly be familiar to hockey fans, as they included hardest shot, accuracy, and... The Michigan Challenge?
Okay so the last one is new, but the guys delivered some top notch efforts and, more importantly, some laughs.
Durzi seems to have a pretty good grasp on transitioning a golf club into hockey activities, but as Jesse so gallantly explains, Tanev and Hyman have some work to do!
...Not like Jesse was any better.
