In the NBA and across the sports world, many sporting venues are being repurposed as voting centres for U.S. citizens to vote in the upcoming election.

The Toronto Raptors, for obvious reasons, can’t be a part of that, but Nick Nurse and the team have been outspoken about the importance of voting as well as other social justice issues including the Black Lives Matter movement.

The team will do what they can to support that, and Nurse revealed that they’ll open Scotiabank Arena for U.S. citizens in Toronto to register to vote next week.

Throughout their time in the NBA bubble, Nurse and players including Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet and Norman Powell have been among the most vocal advocates for change, and it should come as no surprise that they’re enacting this sort of action as well.

In July, Nurse shared a video to his Instagram account urging his American followers to register to vote — particularly those, such as himself, who are abroad.
