There's a great nickname in the hockey world for Johnny Gaudreau's on one his favourite types of foods. We know him as Johnny Hockey, but there are those that now refer to him as Johnny Ham and Cheese for his love of ham and cheese sandwiches.

At first glance, you might not think a ham and cheese sandwich is the optimal choice for a pre-game meal, but don't tell that to Flyers centre Nolan Patrick.

With one assist in the Flyers' 2-1 win over the Canucks on Monday night, the second over pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft has eight points over the Flyers' eight-game winning streak. Following the game, Patrick was asked a rather complicated question about hunting the puck and being more assertive on the ice.

His answer as to why he had a good game? He simply upped his ham and cheese sandwich count.

“I usually just have one ham and cheese sandwich before the game,” he joked. “Today I had two, so I felt really good.”

If we need to go with a nickname here, perhaps Patty ham and cheese suits him best.  In a city that loves their cheesesteak sandwiches, you can be sure Flyers fines are perfectly fine with Patrick's preference as long as he keeps up his strong play.

Centring the Flyers' third line, Patrick brought his point total up to 19 on the season (ten goals, nine assists) in 46 games.
