It’s getting harder and harder to cheer for Brazil at the World Cup due to one simple reason – the frustrations of watching Neymar playing up injuries.

While embellishment has become an accepted part of soccer, some players and teams take it much farther than others. Nobody takes it quite as far as the Brazilian superstar striker.

What makes it more frustrating is that he is one of the best players in the world. This is a player that kids and fans would love to admire, but it’s awfully hard when you see him predictably screaming in pain and flopping like a fish until he either gets his free kick or does not. In the case of the latter, he usually pops up as though nothing has happened.

While, now we have the analytics.

Swiss news outlet RTS calculated the actual amount of time Neymar has spent appearing to have been brutally assaulted, and it’s laughably high. The Paris Saint-Germain forward has spent upwards of 14 minutes on the ground.

Fans are not happy about his antics, and they’re getting more and more vocal about it on social media. Some great content has emerged all about Neymar and his theatrical way of getting attention.

Not Neymar's finest moment...#WorldCup

We’ll see if all the negative attention on soccer’s biggest stage can help to persuade Neymar to grow up a bit, although somehow it doesn’t seem very likely…
