Ondrej Pavelec is off to a very slow start with the New York Rangers.

In six games with his new club, the 30-year-old goalie owns a 1-4 record to go along with a 3.56 goals against average and a .889 save percentage. Considering he’s only on a one-year contract with the Rangers, Pavelec needs to turn things around very quickly if he wants to stick around in the NHL next season.

In hopes of stepping up his game, the Kladno, Czech Republic native decided it was time for a change as he unveiled his brand new Rangers-themed mask.

Designed by David Gunnarsson, Pavelec’s new Rangers mask is pretty much a massive tribute to the City of New York, the Rangers organization, and his favourite musician and New Jersey resident Bruce Springsteen.

This is one of the cooler masks we’ve seen this year so hopefully Pavelec can turn things around sooner rather than later because it would be a shame to have this mask go to waste on the sidelines all season long.
