The 2019 IIHF World Championship is well underway in Slovakia and some teams have really stood out over the first four games of the tournament. One of those teams is Russia, who owns a 4-0 record and sit atop Group B with 23 goals for and just two goals against.

On Wednesday the Russians cruised to a 10-0 victory over Italy and got at least one point from 11 different players. Alex Ovechkin put together a pretty solid performance in the win, registering one goal and one assist with a +3 rating in 14:30 of ice time.

However, the best play of the day from the Capitals’ captain came while he was on the bench waiting to make a line change.

Evgenii Dadonov and Florida Panthers fans everywhere owe Ovi a big hug because his massive glove save on the bench saved the Panthers’ young star from a brutal injury and a trip to a dentist’s chair.
