Ovechkin slow danced with the Stanley Cup on an empty dance floor at the Caps after party

Yesterday was a sad day for hockey fans, because Ovechkin will no longer have the cup by his side day and night.

The Capitals held their celebratory parade in Washington and, once again, Ovechkin basically didn’t let go of the cup. Now the cup will go back with the keeper of the cup and it won’t return to the Caps until each player starts getting their “Day with the Cup”.

So, in his final moments with his beloved trophy, all alone on the dance floor, Ovi and the Cup shared one last slow dance.

We’re basically just waiting to find out when Ovi will have his day with the cup for the rest of summer. It’s possible that he brings the trophy back to Russia and what better time than the present with the World Cup in Russia starting on Thursday.
