Last season, Patrick Eaves reached the 20-goal mark for the first time since his rookie campaign and he got rewarded on Friday afternoon ahead of the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Anaheim Ducks re-signed the 33-year-old Calgary, Alberta native to a three-year deal worth $9.45 million.

The most Eaves has ever made in a single season since joining the NHL in 2005 is $1.4 million, so this is quite the hefty raise for the 12-year veteran.

The Ducks fans were pretty happy to hear the news that Eaves was returning to Anaheim for the next three years, especially his neighbours, who surprised Eaves and his family with some special lawn ornaments the morning after the news broke.

Eaves is coming off a career year where he scored 32 goals and totaled 51 points in 79 games (59 with Dallas, 20 with Anaheim), and also scored two goals and added two assists in the Ducks' seven playoff games.
