Patrick Marleau is heading back to San Jose!

Rumours started to heat up that the Sharks were interested in a reunion with their 2nd overall pick in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft and Tuesday night they put the rumours to rest as they announced that the 40-year-old is back in teal.

Marleau spent the first 19 years of his career with the San Jose Sharks and fans were devastated to see him leave for Toronto a couple of years ago, so you can bet the announcement of his return has Sharks fans extremely excited.

Marleau owns the Sharks franchise records for games played (1,493), goals (508), points (1,082), power play goals (160), short-handed goals (17) and game-winning goals (98), so it’s easy to see why Sharks fans are so excited about his return, even at the age of 40.

According to @ddreger2016, it’s a one-year deal for $700k.🦈
