It’s a good time to be a fan of the Winnipeg Jets. Not only are they 13-7-2 on the season, good for 3rd place in the Western Conference, but they’re stars have emerged after a slow start to the season. No Jet can relate more to that than Patrik Laine.

Laine got off to a slow start to the season, but it didn’t last very long. Laine has now scored 16 goals in the month of November, including a wicked 5-goal outpour on Saturday night against the St. Louis Blues.

One particular Jets fan will be happiest of all, however. Christopher Haley was picked to participate in the Safeway/Sobeys Score and Win contest. The concept is simple, if one Jets player scores five goals, the participant wins $1 million.

He’ll start with $150,000 instantly, and then for the following 19 years he will receive $50,000 annually. That’s not a bad haul for simply chucking your name into the hat.
