Oh how we’ve missed full crowds and the potential they hold.

The Pelicans hosted the Philadelphia 76ers to open up their season and a packed Smoothie King Center wasted no time in trying to get under their skin. With three minutes to go in the second quarter, the Pelicans were down by six when a “Where’s Ben Simmons” chant broke out loud and clear!

Gutless. Even with the chanting, the 76es took the first game of the season 117-97 and yes, they did it without Ben Simmons. Simmons stayed back in Philly after being suspended from the season opener in practice on Tuesday.

Nice try Pelicans! We respect the tried attempt.
