Phil Kessel has been one of the best goal scorers to play the game over the past 10 seasons and the two-time Stanley Cup champion rarely takes a night off.

Since the 2019-10 season when he was still with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the 5th overall pick from the 2006 draft hasn’t missed a single game and he has never missed more than 12 games in a season in his career.

On Saturday night, Kessel suited up for the 1,137th regular season game of his career and it also happened to be his 915th consecutive game, giving him the third-longest Ironman Streak in NHL history.

Kessel entered the game tied for third on the list with Gary Unger at 914 games, but game number 915 bumps into his sole possession of third and just 49 games shy of tying Doug Jarvis’ record of 964 games.

Kessel’s Ironman Streak is the second-longest among current players, as he’s chasing Keith Yandle at the moment and recently passed Patrick Marleau, and he can sit in first or second on the list by season’s end if all goes well.
