Phil Kessel’s name always has a way of finding its way into a joke, but he also has a way of always ending up on the scoresheet. The 31-year-old has 40 points in 37 games this season, which included a three-point performance on Thursday night, and he sent the Penguins fans home with more than just a smile on their face.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have an in-game promotion called the ‘McDonald’s Big Mac Attack’. If a Penguins player scores during the two-minute promotion, everyone in attendance earns themselves a free Big Mac. On Thursday night, Kessel’s first goal of the night happened to come during that time and the fans made sure to thank him almost immediately.

It turns out Kessel actually was interested in the chant from the fans as he seemed pretty happy after the game about winning them some free grub.

It’s very easy to see why Kessel has become a fan favourite throughout the entire league and not just among Penguins fans.
