Midway through the game with Germany leading 2-0, Latvia looked to get on the board as they went to the man advantage. On the power play, they got a glorious chance to get on the scoresheet, but German goalie Philipp Grubauer had other plans.

Just like he did for most of the season with the Washington Capitals, Grubauer stood on his head to help his team come up with the victory.

That would have been a huge goal for Latvia considering the game ended up going to a shootout. Germany will now play Team Canada in the quarterfinals.
