We’re no stranger to tensions boiling over in the pregame process, but after an altercation before Saturday’s rivalry game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Michigan State Spartans, a Michigan player found a new way to throw dirt... literally.

Things got to the point where linebacker Devin Bush began to tear up the Michigan State logo on the turf with his cleats.

We know that sort of thing is sporting sacrilege, but as far as ways to get under an opponent’s skin go, getting under their turf would seem to do it. Just a bang-up job of self-expression by Bush — although we’ll also accept any jokes about how this was a Bush league maneuver.

This dust-up between the two teams came after a scheduling conflict between the teams’ pre-game field times led to Michigan players obstructing MSU’s traditional pre-game walk.
