Star Wars Night is easily one of the most popular theme nights in all of sports, so it makes sense that the Vancouver Canucks hosted a Star Wars Night on Thursday when they took on the Arizona Coyotes.

Like most hockey players around the world, a majority of the Canucks get loose before every game of the season by playing soccer or keep-ups outside the locker room leading up to the pre-game warm-ups. For Thursday’s edition of their pre-game routine they were joined by a new member in R2-D2.

The Star Wars character couldn’t really offer much in terms of helping with or joining the pre-game keep-ups, but it did end up coming in handy for the players as they used it to help keep the ball up during the game.
