While the Toronto Raptors already knew that Kawhi Leonard would represent the team in the All-Star Game, fans watched Thursday’s unveiling of the reserves to see if either Kyle Lowry or Pascal Siakam would get in.

Lowry, of course, has the résumé — he’s an All-Star in each of the last four seasons, and he’s posting a career-high in assists. His scoring is down, and he has missed nearly a month with a back injury. In the end, however, coaches voted him in for his fifth All-Star berth.

No such luck for Siakam, however, as he was among the snubs in the East. Although he’ll likely be a contender for Most Improved Player at the end of the season, Siakam will have to wait at least a year for his first All-Star spot — or hope, perhaps, that he’ll be ushered in as an injury replacement for Victor Oladipo. He will, however, face competition from other snubs such as D’Angelo Russell, Eric Bledsoe and Jimmy Butler, among others.

Here’s what the internet had to say about Lowry in and Siakam out.
