Andreas Athanasiou is one of the fastest players in the NHL. His blazing speed is a force to be reckon with out on the ice.

But what about away from the frozen ice surface out on the court? Well, this season marked the first time that the Red Wings and Detroit Pistons are sharing a stadium with the newly built Little Caesars Arena, and some of the players are taking advantage of the fact that their home venue is now a multi-sport arena.

While we likely wont see any Pistons players lacing up the skates and going for a twirl out on the ice anytime soon, Athanasiou decided to show off his dunking ability by throwing one down on the Pistons’ hardwood.

Air Athanasiou indeed.

Although the ball doesn’t fall through the basket, it’s pretty impressive to see the hopps from the 23-year-old.

The London, Ontario product is listed at six-foot-two on the Red Wings website, and has shown a knack for being a pretty decent dunker before.

Even the Pistons were impressed, and if they ever have a team dunk competition, all they need to do is look down the hallway.
